Playing in Loreto

Today, the Bay of Loreto is the largest natural marine park in all of Mexico.

Loreto is truly an outdoor lover’s paradise offering numerous activities

Playing in Loreto: In addition to its legendary sport fishing, Loreto is truly an outdoor lover’s paradise offering numerous activities such as snorkeling, scuba diving, windsurfing, kiteboarding, golf, hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, kayaking, sailing and bird watching. The island group located a few miles offshore is known Playing in Loreto: whaletail, Loreto, BCSfor secluded coves, crystal waters and dazzling sea life.  Today, the Bay of Loreto is the largest natural marine park in all of Mexico and on a trip to the nearby islands visitors can marvel at the marine life that includes sea lions, exotic birds, playful dolphins and whales.

Outfitters and tour companies are ready to plan and carry out every facet of your day – or longer trip – including feeding you before, during and after if you choose. In the mountains, try mountain sightseeing from a car on the road to the mission at San Javier (now paved through its most challenging sections), or take a drive northward along the shore of Bahia Concepcion and stop for a picnic and refreshments, or hit one of the local taco stands. Another more intimate way to enjoy the mountains, and get a sense of what the original Indians and the earlier settlers dealt with, is to do a mule-back pack trip – day trip or overnight or multi-day – up into the heart of the Gigantas. Not for the faint of heart, however. On some of the routes, if you follow off-road racing, you can also see and hear high speed cars and motorcycles flashing by on the Baja 1000 track.
